Blog To Book Strategy Review (Updated): Does George Kao Have The Best Publishing Hacks?

Lemme guess, you’re looking to make some money online…ideally passive income.

And what better way to do that than to recycle old blog content and put it into a book?

Well…this strategy may not be as easy as you thought, but we’ll dive into that later.

For now, is George Kao Legit? What’s inside the Blog To Book Strategy? And how much does it cost?

Let’s clear the air on some things first.

Unfortuneately, George Kao’s strategy will only work if you have your own blog already with 10-20 individual blog posts that have over 1000 words of content.

In other words…you can’t just go to someone else’s blog, rip their content, and repurpose it as your own.

I mean I guess, ultimately you could…it wouldn’t be legal…and it’d be pretty slimey…but you might get away with it for a while.

I just don’t recommend that. Karma ya know?

But, for those of you that DO have their own blog AND have the minimum content qualifications that George presents, let’s keep diving in.

George has been coaching since about 2009 and claims that he’s made $10,000 from his various strategies.

Now he does offer 21 different courses, so quick math would say about $500 from each strategy.

So yeah he made money from what he teaches…but not too much.

But, he’s had 100 different clients over the years, and easy math for that says a little less than 10 people per year, which means you could get some solid hands on coaching.

All in all, I’d say George seems legit.

Now let’s dive in what you get with his Blog To Book Strategy:

  • Templates
  • Walkthrough Videos
  • Access to the Student Directory
  • Private Facebook Group
  • 2 Group Q&A Calls

At first glance, that doesn’t seem like too much. So I’d imagine he’s not charging an arm and a leg for his program.

Let’s see…

The Blog To Book Strategy costs $150.

I’m sure you’d agree that it isn’t too steep of a price point.

Unfortunately though, there doesn’t seem to be a refund policy listed anywhere if you determine that it isn’t totally what you were expecting.

Alright, so now let me dive into why this strategy probably isn’t all what it’s cut out to be.

For one thing, most KDP publishers on Amazon don’t make a whole lot. We’re talking maybe $500 over the course of a year.

Far from life changing money…

Secondly as cool as it sounds to basically recycle old content and sell it as a book, further leveraging work you already put in, odds are that you’re gonna have a hard time selling a small book like that.

Think about it, if the book is really short and on a very VERY niche topic…odds are someone is just gonna Google it and who knows…maybe even find your blog where you already wrote about it for FREE!

So yeah, in theory…George’s idea is awesome.

In practice not so much.

There is a business model out there though that sounds great in both theory and practice though…

It’s called digital leasing.

Think about it like a digital version of real estate.

I know that term is thrown around quite a bit these days…but seriously…it’s probably the closest to that definition more than anything else these days.
