Her ad is really short and sweet: “Struggling With Affiliate Marketing? Avoid Any Further Costly Mistakes. Get Your Hands On A Copy Of This Book – “Avoiding The Pitfalls”. Click The “Download” button to Access”. Pretty simple right? I would say so. However, just because she’s offering you a book for free doesn’t mean that there isn’t going to be some kind of “ask” down the road.
You see, this is just another form of a sales funnel…Ouch…You thought you were going to outsmart the system with this one huh? Unfortunately that’s not the case. What some of the better affiliate marketing gurus out there do is launch something called a “book funnel”. This is where they offer you some sort of book for free that includes some valuable information. The part that sucks is that every problem they list off, they typically promote themselves as the solution…which isn’t necessarily always true.
Sometimes they’re not really the solution, but have no choice but to promote themselves and chase after the sale. And what’s the case here? Unfortunately the latter. You see, Tina is running a Facebook ad to promote this free book. And let’s be real, no one is in the business of losing money. She uses her book as a way to promote one of her offers.

Now let me tell ya a little bit about how this gets kinda dicey in my opinion. If Tina is so successful in affiliate marketing herself, why does she need to promote her services as an affiliate marketing coach to make money that way? I actually know some guys personally that do affiliate marketing and are super successful, running 7-figure monthly operations…they haven’t once thought about getting in the coaching space and leaking their secrets.
Many affiliate marketing gurus that you see today fall into one of two categories…1: they were never actually successful with affiliate marketing but are good at creating offers and selling, so they go the coaching route. 2: They had a small amount of success in affiliate marketing for a short time and immediately use that as their social proof and claim to legitimacy as a coach. It’s hard to say which one Tina falls into, but I would hope she breaks the mold of both.
Overall I’m just not a fan of affiliate marketing. Most gurus fail to tell you about the common UNAVOIDABLE pitfalls such as the best products being the most competitive. Not to mention you’re literally competing against millions of people to sell the same product. And on top of that, the amount of money you’ll have to spend in ads or seo just to generate enough sales to maybe breakeven. Going back to those guys I was talking about earlier…sure they’re successful now…but they spent over $250k before they saw any positive return. Simply put, affiliate marketing was easy once…but those days are long gone.
