Superstar Blogging Review (Updated): Is Matt Kepne Legit?

Do you have something that you’re super passionate about or find enjoyment in? Maybe it’s video games, travel, cars, or even fitness.

Whatever your passion is, you probably have realized that it doesn’t necessarily pay the bills huh?

Well Matt Kepne seeks to change all that for you with his Superstar Blogging program. His goal is to help you monetize a blog on whatever you want.

But is he legit? What’s inside the program? And how much does Superstar Blogging cost?

Look, I get it.

The economy is looking bleak.

You used to think job security existed, and maybe it once did, but that’s clearly no longer the case.

Or maybe you used to think that you could rely on just one source of income, and now having a second job or side hustle is a necessity just to pay the bills.

And here’s the reality, trading your time for money is a losing game.

The dollar is worth less and less every day.

Not to be this doom and gloom guy, but inflation is a real concern that we have to acknowledge right?

You need assets.

Assets that can pay you month over month like clock work without much added time on your end.

Matt Kepne is on the right track with his Superstar Blogging course, but he misses the boat in a few areas.

Here’s how he plans to teach you to earn money from your passion:

  • Module 1: Setting Up and Getting Started
  • Module 2: Building A Brand
  • Module 3: Writing Content
  • Module 4: Mastering Social Media and Networking
  • Module 5: SEO
  • Module 6: Newsletters
  • Module 7: Monetizing Your Blog
  • Module 8: Partnering with Brands, PR Agencies and More

Honestly, for what it costs (which we’ll get to here in a moment) the program isn’t all that bad.

Basic?

Yes.

Gives you actionable steps to actually get started running the business?

Also yes.

Which I find is lightyears ahead of the scummy programs that just give you a bunch of mindset and theory videos to then push you to buy their $20,000 program later on.

Matt Kepne has my respect for what he provides.

So how much does Superstar Blogging cost?

It’ll run ya a one time cost of $99.

That’s why I really don’t think it’s that bad of an offer at all.

Still…it is not my number one business recommendation though…no matter how much I like the guy.

What’s so wrong about affiliate marketing?

Well a few things…

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great way to make money, and admittedly, I’ve made money from affiliate marketing too.

The issue though is it’s really not something for beginners.

Affiliate marketing generally takes a lot of money to get started if you’re looking to make money with it quickly…like a year or less.

Travel blogging is a really competitive industry, so is just about every other blogging niche.

This means you’ll have to front thousands of dollars into SEO.

Over the long term this will be a great strategy and well worth it, but most don’t have the capacity to weather the storm.

The next option is ads…spending lots of money (like thousands) on ads each month to drive traffic to your blog so you can get conversions.

I’m guessing you probably don’t have thousands of extra dollars to spend each month huh?

Next thing is conversion, let’s say you have the traffic coming into your site…the game is not over.

You have to figure out how to get that person to click your links and buy the products you’re promoting.

This is REALLY hard to do, you basically have to become a copywriting expert.

Which means you can’t just pay some people from the Philippines to write for your blog and pass it straight through, you’ll have to take your time editing and building in those conversion points.

So look, I didn’t want to burst your bubble with affiliate marketing, I just wanted to be honest with you before you jumped in. Like I said, Matt’s a great guy and a $99 course is a steal!

That said, if you’re kinda turned off of affiliate marketing now…go ahead and check out my #1 way to make money online as a beginner, it’s way less competitive and expensive compared to affiliate marketing.
